Jason Keigley of Indianapolis was found guilty of swindling money from seniors through a fraudulent investment and mortgage scheme. While working for a mortgage company he also stated his own mortgage company. Big red light here. How would you know? When dealing with a mortgage broker you can check them out with the Secretary of State.
The SOS found that Keigley convinced a Hendricks County couple to invest in his company which was an unregistered security. He told the couple that their was an investment and was in an interest-bearing account. He also brokered a reverse mortgage loan. Keigley could not account for any of the missing funds. The victims home was also hit with a foreclosure due to Keigley's failure to fulfill the obligations of the reverse mortgage.
Now Keigley did such a great job of defending himself the jury deliberated for all of two hours before finding him guilty. Now he has not been sentenced yet since "Job" here has to wait until he finds out what is happening with other charges in Marion County (Indianapolis).

Much more fraud Jason did and was not even charged for. SOS and Marion County dropped the ball. After the news conference was over, they failed to fight for justice for many victims. When the SOS guy got himself in legal trouble over votes, his office failed victims! How about the bank account he opened in a victim's name, storage unit he opened in a victim's name to hide his files, homes he purchased in victim's name with fake POA and rent he collected when he had renters living in them????? An Indianapolis man has been convicted of securities fraud for allegedly bilking clients, mainly senior citizens, out of more than $200,000 in a mortgage scheme.
Jason Keigley is the former owner of 1st Place Mortgage.
A Hendricks County jury found 35-year-old Jason Keigley guilty Tuesday. Keigley was convicted of the following charges: the offer or sale of an unregistered security, transacting business as an unregistered broker dealer, and fraud in connection with the offer or sale of a security, all class C felonies. Keigley was also found guilty of loan broker fraud, a class D felony.
Sentencing is set for March 17. Keigley faces up to 13 years in prison.

Some time after Keigley brokered the reverse mortgage loan and the couple had bought Keigley's investment, the couple requested their investment funds and only a small portion was returned.
No account has ever been located and Keigley could not account for any of the missing funds. In addition, the victims were hit with foreclosure on their home as a result of Keigley's failure to fulfill the obligations of the reverse mortgage.
